Well Worn Workshop

Well Worn is turning 1! This May will mark a whole year of Well Worn, a book by Skye Pennant, being out in the world and she’s hosting a mending party at Vallis Farm to celebrate!

Join Skye for a full day visible mending workshop as you look at different chapters from the book to give our well worn clothes a new lease of life.

Over the course of the day you will cover various darning techniques, look at patching on denim and woven fabrics and talk through any particular areas of damage you need to fix and figure out the best mends for them. This workshop will be based around hand sewn repairs only and all materials will be provided, you just need to bring a few of your favourite garments to mend.

You will stop for lunch and have time to explore the beautiful gardens that Vallis Farm has to offer (and weather depending we might even be able to sit outside and mend as well!)

Of course it wouldn’t be a birthday party without cake and a party bag, so expect sweet treats as well as some mending related party favours to take home, and discounts on both copies of Well Worn and to use in Skye’s online shop.

FAQ’s:

New to the world of visible mending? Visible mending allows us all to squash those perfectionist fears by embracing bold and creative darns that celebrate all of our hand worked and wonky stitches. Mended is better than perfect and choosing to repair the clothes we love instead of buying new also shows the fashion industry that we care about the stories of our clothing from the textile farmers growing the cotton through to the garment workers who made the clothes. Visible mending can also turn your clothing into a wearable scrapbook, capturing the life you are living in them and making every garment uniquely yours.

The venue. Vallis Farm is an idyllic location just outside of Frome that will provide the perfect backdrop for us to mend together. We’ll be situated in a beautiful and cozy lounge area (with a dining room to break out into for lunch). There is parking available on site.

Lunch Any allergies or dietary requirements? Please let me know at the time of booking so that I can pass this along to Vallis Farm.
