This is a foraging walk for both adults and children (accompanied kids go free) including a meal at the farm cooked with foraged ingredients we’ll gather at our walk. Come and spend time connecting with the plants that surround you, and all they can offer. We’ll learn the basics of plant identification and safety and I always encourage sustainable foraging. We share these plants with other living beings and only take with gratitude what will not be missed.
Join me on this walk and learn about some of our local superfoods. Yes superfoods, because wild edibles are just packed with nutrition, full of vitamins, minerals and trace elements to nourish your body. We will look at some of our most common weeds and how to use them not just in the kitchen. We’ll try out some spring greens just coming into season and perfect for harvest, share recipes and useful tips and tricks. The talk is suitable for people with no previous experience and for people who want to progress on their journey of connecting with wild plants.
After the walk we will return to the farm to cook a meal. The food will be depending on what’s in season and abundance. The dishes might include Stir-fry Noodles with Wood Ear, Wild garlic and Burdock root, Lemon and Nettle cake, Cleavers water or some Wild tea and something small to take home for later. Menu can change due weather and seasonal availability.
